In January 2001, I managed 8 days sailing out of 13, generally on small sails. In April 2001, I sailed 11 days out of 14, but three of these were light wind days, when I used a 6.5m sail. January 2002 gave 7 consecutive sailing days, with medium winds. Of these, I sailed on 6 days.

On Tuesday 30 January the wind was around Beaufort 9. It blew all day and most of two nights. It blew volcanic dust into the apartment, and it blew the restaurant chairs around. I didn't sail that day. We thought we would have some great windsurfing, but it didn't last.

The first week had generally light winds, with only two good sailing days. It rained quite hard on the first Saturday. We did some walking around Granadillo. The second week had consistent winds of at least Beaufort 6, every day but one. I sailed lots of different boards, and came home exhausted and with sore hands from attempting to hold the boom.
Generally speaking, you can expect to sail on about half of the days.
